  • was CEO of Cell Systems Limited, a medical applications company in cryopreservation and algal biotechnology
  • was Executive Vice President of a multi-billion dollar diversified industrial and financial group based in New York
  • had a ministerial appointment in the US administration as a principal negotiator in the Tokyo Round of multilateral trade negotiations
  • is a member of the board of EuropaBio and the executive committee of the British North American Committee
  • holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BSc from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
 
Paul Davis, Ph.D, Scientific Advisor
Paul Davis is a founder of Arecor and leads the technical aspects of the company. He
  • is a leader in the field of manipulating enzymes and other proteins for therapeutic and other applications
  • was one of the scientific founders of Unipath and developed much of the patented technology that led to the first widely-available home pregnancy test Clearblue™
  • was a senior scientist within Unilever and is a named inventor in over 30 granted Unilever patents
  • is a visiting professor at the University of Warwick and the University of Kent
  • holds a doctorate in immunology from University of London.
 
Tim Saxon, Business Development
Tim Saxon is based in New Jersey, USA from where he initiates and facilitates the collaboration with leading Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies. He
  • worked for Wyeth at their corporate headquarters in the US from 1999 as Assistant Vice President in Global Business Development
  • was a consultant for Sagentia, based in Cambridge UK from 1997 until leaving for the US. During this time, Tim served on the Board of Sirus.
  • worked for British-based Boots Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare International, first in marketing and then in business development between 1991 and 1997.
  • started his career in the UK, as a chemical engineer in 1978, and then moved into sales and marketing for ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca).
  • gained his MBA from Loughborough University Business School, England, with distinction.
 
Jan Jezek, Ph.D, Formulation Development
Jan Jezek is a biochemist with a strong background in physical chemistry and is the principal inventor of the core protein stabilization technology. He
  • played a key technical role at Insense Ltd in the development of a range of novel active hydrogel wound dressings that are capable of active delivery of oxygen, iodine and nitric oxide to a wound site
  • held a post-doctoral position at Luton Institute of Research in Applied and Natural Sciences, where he developed successfully novel electrochemical methods for the determination of trace impurities in drinking water
  • holds a joint doctorate from the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Chemical Technology, Prague.
 
Kishor Modha, Ph.D, Operations
Kishor Modha has a background in the development biopharmaceuticals and within Arecor he is responsible for operations and developing a strategy for product development. He
  • has nine years experience in the management of projects involving the development and production of biopharmaceuticals outsourced to Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO)
  • possesses a good understanding of the guidelines for GLP and GMP, and has a working knowledge of the regulatory issues surrounding the development of therapeutic proteins
  • has been involved in the development, manufacture and stability testing of new formulations
  • is experienced in the production and supply of pre-filled syringes for clinical trials
  • holds a doctorate in biotechnology from Surrey University.
