Differentiated biosimilars
Increasing numbers of therapeutic proteins are coming off patent. This presents opportunities for the extension of patent life based upon a new presentation. Developers of biosimilar proteins seek ways to differentiate their protein-based drug from other potential manufacturers.
For example, a drug currently formulated as a powder for reconstitution could be formulated as a pre-filled syringe using Arestat-T™. This could provide greater user convenience and/or extension of patent life.
